This document presents the results of a literature review of critical sexuality studies books and journal articles published between the years 2000 and 2006 on sexual citizenship and sexual rights. While the document briefly explores the notion of sexual citizenship as ideologically grounded in hegemonic heterosexuality, it focuses primarily on the concept of sexual rights, and the various ways in which sexual rights discourses may reproduce heteronormativity.
