I have to teach here a module on Sexuality and society for undergraduate students. Due to the structure and requirements in the university, it is difficult to use your proposal as it is, but still I took some ideas about references from the documents you have there. I like in particular the part on Mass media because I did not find any succinct reference in the literature and actually borrow some of the theory on media to introduce the topic in one of my lectures.As for talking about your materials, I have not had the opportunity. Any reflections on the Short Course?
Posted 16 December 2010 by GillianFDear Group members, My name is Gillian Fletcher and I was the Senior Research Assistant with overall responsibility for pulling the final Short Course together, on behalf of Professor Gary Dowsett and the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society. Given that the course has been online for some time now, I am interested to hear about people's experiences of it. Have you: Just looked at the content? Used parts of the Shorrt Course 'as is', i.e. following the Facilitator's Notes? Adapted parts of the Short Course? Downloaded all/part of the Short Course then filed it and never looked at it again? Told colleagues about it? Used it as a resource? Looked at the modules and thought 'if ONLY they had done this...'? All of the above, none of the above, anything else?? This is an entirely informal request; I am just interested to get some feedback on if/how 'our' course has grown since it was sent out into the world??! (Continues)

I created this group so that those using the Advancing Sexualities Studies short course could be in contact with eachother in relation to any topics of interest, or any problems, that emerge from using the short course modules.The discussion group could also serve as a space where those using the modules can seek advice from other users in relation to ways to adapt module content, or in relation to additional teaching resources that could complement the modules in particular cultural contexts. Or perhaps you simply have a question about the logistics of running modules or incorporating them into your own teaching. (Continues)
